  TIP: International offered either a painted or chrome park light housing on the 1969-75 IH Pickups and the Scout II's inception in 1971 until 1976. In 1977 International then offered a plastic housing which was noticeably smaller, requiring a completely different lower valance to give it a more pleasing appearance. Both buckets used the same lenses. The later plastic bucket will fit into the earlier valance, but there will be a gap around the edges. The early metal buckets will not fit into the later valance. Take a good look at this series of pictures to see the differences. It is becoming very hard to find nice original chromed park light buckets. If you do find a pair that look rusty, take a piece of steel wool and rub the rust off, often this will reveal nice chrome underneath as it was just stained. Clear coat to help prevent further rust. The lens will hide a lot of the bucket so what is really important is the lip or reveal that should have decent chrome. Of course, in a full restoration, the buckets can be re-chromed.
